So now that the Bear Chase is done, what next?
Good question. I thought I had it figured out. I had set my sights on the Jingle Bell Run, a nice little 5K at the beginning of December, something for which I could work on my speed for shorter distance, and start thinking about something longer next year.
But something about Sunday’s race left me with this feeling like there’s some unfinished business. My wife had the same feeling. So… maybe there’s another half in our future before the year’s end. I don’t know for sure. I’ll keep you posted.
Either way I’m thinking… the Santa look is a definite must. I have a couple of months to grow my beard out, maybe get some red sweats and line them with white trim… time to get a little festive eh?
I’m feeling better about Sunday. Like I said, there’s a feeling of unfinished business, but feeling better all the same.
And it’s kinda ticking me off that my back hasn’t really been hurting ever since the race. It’s like it accomplished its little act of sabotage and now is done with. At least the good news is I’m not suffering a lot of aches and pains from Sunday, other than a thigh that feels like it could go all Charlie Horse on me if it wanted to. I expected some sore joints still today. I’m definitely not complaining!
All that said… I don’t know, I feel like I’m on a mission right now, if nothing else just to prove myself, if to no one else than to myself. That and to look like Santa.
